I vaguely remember fixing a bug in the code that updates the pfactor line in worktodo.ini.

The "fix" for you is to make your worktodo.ini look ilke this:

Pfactor=exponent,68,0

Even though the exponent is only factored to 2^65. This will skip trial factoring to 2^68. While this sounds less than optimal - it actually may result in higher GIMPS thoughput.
