OK, I think I've got it.

I found HOSNAVIXTZIH in some sort of very official work report (Informe de Labores) for the Mexican Navy. Your "mystery word" appears in the sentence

I'm guessing HOSNAV is an acronym for Hospital Naval ("Navy hospital" in English). I believe the suffixes indicate locations. IXTZIH is probably "Ixtapa, Huatulco y Zihuatanejo."
