what does the 64bit version get me?

Is there any advantage to running the 64bit version?

I've heard that it makes integer based programs run faster but I know that prime95 is a oddball in the sense that it uses very precise numbers...

before i was running it in a vm of xp , which was fine but it wasnt taking advantage of the 2nd core.
