I've been away from Prime95 for a while. Now I'd like to run it on an eMachines with a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4, Windows XP Home SP2.

I am running Prime95 23.8.1 on a Pentium III. The Whatsnew file suggests that this is still the best version for this CPU, i.e. fastest and well-tested.
Is that correct?

In Windows, you could poll the temperature...
In Windows, you could poll the temperature sensor, stop the Prime95 service, edit the value of Throttle in prime.ini, and restart the service. Or the equivalent in mprime of this Prime95 feature. :-)
