I am doing lots of ECM work on small (sub 5k)...
I am doing lots of ECM work on small (sub 5k) candidates.
PC has 64gb ram, if I allow ECM to have say 32gb ram, then when it tries to allocate another 4 gig to take it to more than 16 gig it fails...

the smallest one on the list is 100,069 which has 30,124 digits so we are nowhere remotely near going past the number of bits in the number...

So you sometimes get a collision, with a fast enough GPU it might mean you sometimes throw away 15-20 minutes of computation.
I'm currently plowing through the sub 1M exponents, in the 200k range...

I did one curve at each B1 level (Prime 95), then ran gmp-ecm in verbose mode to time for each B2 going up in powers of 10 until I reached the point where run times were about equal'ish...

Ohh....guess I should give up on M3049 now....even though there haven't been all *that* many curves at B1 in range 850M-1B the large number of lower bounds curves give the likelihood of a miss at 65...
