Aren't you lowering alim to 134M? I'm not sure what you are asking here.

I would also make lpbr = 32; I don't see the point of a 31LP job using the 16e siever. That would remove the violation of...

I think if you reverse the lims you'll get much better yield on this one. Smaller lim on sieve side and smaller lim on the 3LP side both suggest reversing which is 134 and which is 268.

I don't think the max has any value- I experimented with -override flag to see what could be overridden, and ran a client-day with A=31. Pretty sure no A=30 workunit will find 12,000 relations!

I've had good results with smaller lim on the 3LP side, so I would try alim of 182M and rlim of 268M.
If that is faster, then I would try alim 134M and rlim 316M.

My rule of thumb is that adding...

That's a year away. Every card a year away will always be faster than today's card. How does waiting help you get work done?

How many relations did you collect? Was the unique ratio better than 2,2174L's? The matrices came out pretty similar in size, so a comparison of relations counts (raw and unique) gives a nice 33 vs...

Ed-
Any machine that struggles with memory use on strategy 2 can use the -override flag with adjust_strategy 1 (EDIT: 0, not 1- thanks Charybdis!). Your yield will be something like 5% lower, but so...

The only difference between the f-small queue that we have access to and Greg's "big" queue is the lim restriction of 225M for f-small, and Greg's self-imposed 250M for the "big" one. That...

I don't mind my production info on a web page like Seth's, by forum name or client name. I'm still running the same two machine-names from that 2019 job, anyway.

If you mean LLR and not Prime95 Mersenne testing, the answer depends on the size of the numbers you are testing.
Small tests may fit into CPU cache and hardly need main-memory bandwidth at all.

I reckon deg 6 and 5 will be competitive around 2^700. That is, from something like 2^680 to 2^720 which one is faster depends on the individual polynomials.
