I still have the problem of YAFU taking a lot of time for poly selection. I recently did a 133 digit number that took about 2 hours for sieving and more than 1 hour for poly select. The behavior is...

Yes, I thought that maybe they focus more on the development of the software and bleeding edge parameters than those smaller ones. Still, it would be very interesting for publication (not...

It's done, I did ECM on the successor term's C195 up to 7558@43e6. Completing the 110e6 curves would take about 5 days for me, so have at it :)

Done the AL3408 to 7557@43e6 and the lower B1s according to the usual number of curves. I won't continue.

Thanks, that sounds very promising. I did a C153 with stock CADO parameters so I could compare the times.

Btw, has it ever been considered to share these findings with the CADO team or generally...

Interesting look into the History of Aliquots. :)

Let's see what the factorization will yield, just as likely it'll hit another C170+ immediately.

If this situation requires more sieving, I'd assume we have more distinct prime factors (or ideals actually?) than relations? But then why is it called overdetermined? That to me sounds like having...

I see, so a lower lpb results in fewer relations to be found, but they are more "useful"?

The latter would be due to there being fewer unknowns in the LA problem?

That seems so low to me. A GNFS 160 takes about 160M raw relations, a GFNS 165 takes about 220 M when I do it with CADO using Curtis' optimized parameters. Is this a result of using very different...

Taking C175_3408_1723

What is the protocol once factors are obtained, should I just put them into factordb? I know some people don't do that in case it results in a downdriver.

Default TD is 90.

True, target density does have an effect, albeit not very much for smaller numbers. In case of this 19M matrix the difference between 90 and 120 was around 4% lower ETA which is...

Is it possible to lookup where the factorization is used, e.g. which k? I never saw an entry where k wasn't factored, I'm curious.

Also, what other use is there besides factoring k?
