Good finds! I'm having troubles (switch related - maybe heat) that are crashing my CADO-NFS runs. I will probably not join the sieving in the near term. I'm finding one machine can hang the whole...

I wonder if a different, specific parameter needs to be matched with P=14M or higher. My P=16M is similarly lower than my P=2M runs for the same search spaces.

I ran CADO-NFS with P=2M from 0-1e7 and P=12M for 0-1e6. I'm going to jump up to 2e8 and above for a while "just for fun."

Not sure what value is wanted for this poly, but my Msieve suggests:

min E-value: 2.06e-15
expecting poly E from 7.98e-15 to > 9.18e-15
If I'm reading this correctly, this first post is shy of...

CADO-NFS Humo(u)r

I've written more than once about ETAs in the distant future, which is caused quite naturally by an expectation that a single machine is running the project and clients have not, as yet, uploaded any...

I reran the range from 130M-132M at P=16M because P=2M found a cownoise MurphyE score of 2.203 for 130M-133M. The rerun only covered 130M-132M and only 130M to the below number was graphed. The...

I have been trying to study the randomness of "good" polynomials across a search region. I've even graphed exp_E values for a given region/parmeters. I'm sure someone's already explored this. Is...

Thanks. If he'd rather not publish it openly, but would allow me the info, i wouldn't mind PMs from him. I might lack the knowledge to implement it though. I would try to create some scripts.

What is done to "spin" a polynomial? Is it something I can learn and/or implement with my archaic machinery and limited knowledge?

I had a 2.3 I didn't post because it was less than the earlier VBCurtis one. Should I post close ones?

interesting - I did a quick run and got a poly that cownoise wouldn't comment on, as well. It, too, had a large skew and much smaller original MurphyE than the earlier one posted that cownoise...

Sorry to be so inquisitive, but I'm lost on something else:

Worst polynomial in queue now has exp_E 56.820000

Parsed 367...

This is not at all a problem. Please don't go to that bother. I would merely forget it very soon and would not actually put it to use, at least not in the near future.

Perhaps I have found the answer, in that the "raw exp_E" score range appears to be rather narrow, resulting in a large number of candidates with identical scores.
