Got today's in 5. After using up my standard 4 guesses, only got 4 hits, one of which was in correct position. After checking word lists matching the pattern (https://word.tips/), guessed the most...

I use a static list of "optimized" words that gets me sufficient letters before I even attempt serious guesses. Mostly have been doing in 5, but have 1 three and couple for fours. My list:

This doesn't make sense. What were the stage 1 FFT sizes, per iteration timings and worker/thread configuration for these two runs?

While 2.2 might be a bit high, 2x or 1.9x _should have_ given...

I think it is for people who came into contact with a known COVID patient, and thus isolating. If they remain asymptomatic for 5 days, they can come out of isolation, with a further 5 days of...

This B1-M is very nearly fitting with sqrt(ref RAM/allocated RAM) * B1@ref RAM !!! Also, eventhough it says it is lower GHzD, I suspect that the actual runtimes are pretty close or even increasing,...

I suspect that a good rule of thumb for B1 adjustment would be sqrt( ref RAM / allocated RAM) where ref RAM should be a good "high end" RAM allocation like 24GB (out of a typical 32GB installed RAM)....

Ok. These are definitely showing better thruput compared to 8w tests.

There is a chance that you may get slightly higher thruput by optimizing Infinity Fabric speed. By default IF runs at RAM...

Can you also do 4w (16t per w) as well? For wavefront exponents, 8 worker will not fit entirely within L3, but 4 worker will.

Also, what is your RAM speed?

EDIT: 4096K FFT and higher would...

5 digits = factor of 2
1 digit = factor of 2^(1/5) ~= 1.15
3 digits = factor of 2^(3/5) ~= 1.52

Linear interpolation between 1 & 2 wouldn't be too far off though. You'd get 1.6 which is good...

As I mentioned in that other thread, the residues produced are the same. You're assuming PRP-CF does a standard Fermat test; it does NOT.

Let N=Mp/f
Instead of checking 3^(N-1)==1 (mod N)...

You can remove the dependency on memory bandwidth if you have sufficiently large L3. 64MB L3 of 5900X can hold current wavefront FFT in its entirety.

I am beginning to think that this final point is a bit of genius.

1. Mathematically, the optimal thing to do is to let the program calculate the optimal B2 (for the given B1 & RAM).
2. Therefore...

Why not let the program calculate the optimal B2, given B1, TF & RAM? So then the problem becomes selecting the B1.

There can be three possible shape for B1 as a function of exponent.

Well... post your algorithm. Don't post "old way". We know old way. We know more "old ways" than you have heard of. Just post your algorithm and we'll tell you if its already known / good / bad.
