Okay, thanks. I've downloaded and set up everything (played around with sr2sieve a little while back, so I wasn't completely lost setting it up), now I just have to wait for my core to free up and I'll get crunching on that.
Okay, great! Meanwhile, if anyone else wants to help out, there's still about ~300-400G of gaps to be filled--just holler and I'll get you a range! |

Are there gaps in other people's ranges, was that a mistake, or is some happening beyond 600G? |

Sorry, I just did a rough estimate of the gaps, and I overestimated by a huge margin. Actually, now that I think about it a little more, it's probably more like ~200G of gaps in the range. |
Please ask Jasong about his ranges from 2nd Team Drive. Thank you.

Gary had asked him about those, too--and he didn't get a very clear answer from jasong. Hopefully when he comes back from vacation he'll have a clear response saying whether jasong is going to release those ranges, or finish them up. |
Hello from beautiful Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! 85 degrees and sunny here. Just got off the beach.
I have 20 mins. on this machine and it costs $5 so I´ll attempt to make the most of it. Don´t worry everyone, Anon and I have the exact ranges that are missing from Jasongs range here. Anon will get them divvied up properly. I just got the factors from Jasong 3 days ago. I calculated that he had sieved about 35-40% of the P=240K range. As for his LLR reservation, he posted a new thread here saying that he had messed up and needed someone to sort out the lresults file that he posted. He´s already found 2 primes in the range but without a detailed analysis of the file, we don't know for sure. We'll get it sorted out eventually and put some additional things up for reservation if needed. Hey, I like this spanish machine. Cool different letters and characters like ¿, ¡, ñ, and Ñ. lol Later, Gary |
I suspect we would get more response if we post exactly what was remaining for reservation and let people reserve parts of those ranges.
Just my two cents...whatever we think works best here. |

Just my two cents...whatever we think works best here.
I'd rather not do that, mainly because the ranges are in very oddly-sized chunks; I'd prefer to do the splitting up of the gaps into custom-sized ranges (such as the one that Mini-Geek has reserved right now) myself. However, we definitely have plenty of work that needs to be done (including some relatively large-sized chunks, for those who prefer those), so I can get ranges of pretty much any size for people. |
Well, I just added up all the gaps to see how much total work we have left to do--and it came up to roughly 115G. Obviously, we have our work cut out for us.
If you like sieving, please help out--we need as much as we can get! :help: |
Which is best for sieving, AMD or Intel?
What do we need to run it? How do we go about doing it? -newbie |

If I finish this one in 3 days I'll probably want another 20G-worth (though I realize it may not be one full 20G range). |
