I'm teasing him...
If we decide to run the rally on both ports Kar_born will have to make two race stats.
this should not be the problem. if so it can take a day or more to do so but i don't think so. i can do the race stats first and than the all over stats! i prefer port 100 too, first to get rid of these low pairs to complete the ranges and submit primes to PrimeSearch, and second to see if the problem is solved with more connections allowed on server-side. |

Carlos, can you do me a favor? Can you see if I'm getting some major processing on port 100 right now? With 7 machines on it, I should be sending back about 2+ results per minute to the server. If you can do that, it'd save me a trip into work to check on things.
Can you install logmein on those work machines?
Here you are, results have 2 min age!!!!
Excellent. They are coming at the rate I would expect. OK, we have a problem. Port 300 is down now. I just looked on my son's laptop for overnight processing. As expected I saw a pattern of receiving 5 pairs, testing, unable to send back results, then results sent, new pairs received, testing, unable to send back results, then results sent, etc. Now it's down so there are 5 results that its been unable to send. I tried stopping LLRnet and restarting. No luck. OK, work is good. I'm moving all home machines to port 100. 100 looks stable now. I'm going to queue up 50 k/n pairs on each home core. (Work unfortunately only has 5 k/n pairs queued up on each. If I have time I'll run in later and change them to 50 also.) 50 would be good enough to last these slower Athlon machines about 2 hours in case of server problems. Hopefully any server issue could be fixed in that amount of time. I don't want to queue up more because I don't want to have a huge cache to clear out at the end of the rally on my sieving machines and son's machine. You might take a quick beak at server 300 Carlos but if you can't fix it, don't worry about it. The rally can still be on both but certainly people should choose what appears to be the more stable server 100 at this point. EDIT: Will be away for 15 mins. getting all machines to port 100 before 7 PM GMT. Gary |
Can you install logmein on those work machines?
Here you are: EDIT: IronBits can also host a LLRnet server...lol
I'm sending a tutorial to Gary in 3 parts about hosting an LLRnet server. Since it's pretty easy, he should be able to host one soon. |
Gary,
All servers are running. Carlos |
ARGH!! Port 100 won't start on my machine. It's doing the same thing as port 300...going into sleep mode shortly after trying to start. What's up? Are we maxed out? How can my work machines be working fine but I can't start new machines on it?
I checked task manager and it says running but 0% CPU so it's clear that it's trying to run. Ugh...all the testing in the world ahead of time and I'm still having last minute problems. |
Gary,
All servers are running. Carlos
They're not running here. Can someone try to add another LLRnet machine? I know I'm doing everything right this time. |
Well, trying to follow this I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be running, but here's what I am running: 8 2.83GHz E5440 cores on port 100.
I will be able to run this for the rest of the day (I'm UTC-5), but I need to take the machine down to install a new O/S tonight (I was going to do it today but decided at the last minute to run some NPLB instead). I'm still just using my old 32-bit Linux install that was still on the disks, and I want to upgrade to a 64-bit Linux install. |
Beyond, Blist, alpha, em99010pepe, kar_born, Flatlander, IronBits, XS clients, Helix are all receiving wu's.
I see Gary's on port 100 but not on port 300. |

I see Gary's on port 100 but not on port 300.
I have 7 work machines on port 100. It sounds like they are doing fine. I can't connect my home machines. It goes straight to sleep mode after attempting initialization for 1-2 mins. I've got 4 cores WAITING WAITING in sleep mode...soon to be 6. The # of connections must be maxed out or something. The server is not allowing new connections. I have one more machine to try. EDIT: I'm attempting to put everything on port 100 since we know that is supposedly running well. Gary |
First result in on port 300:
