We have added a new thread that shows all info. about the LLRnet servers that are currently running at NPLB and where they are currently at in testing.

Great work in getting the info. together Karsten! :smile:

It is now official. k=400-1001 for n=320K-340K is complete and verified! :smile:

NPLB found a total of 49 new primes and verified 9 others for a total of 58 primes.

Karsten, I have double-checked your rieselprime site, the NPLB pages for team drives 1 and 2, and the top-5000 site against primes in all the results files that I have. All primes are listed and are correct. I also double-checked my listings in the first post of each drive. 1 prime that was missing is now listed.

I was only missing results files for 4 out of 100 n=200 ranges! Very nice job in sending them everyone!! :smile: I messed up on 2 of them and didn't get them pulled from a web link and the person no longer had them available. I should be getting the other 2 this weekend.

I will start listing the primes and completing the ranges on Primesearch tonight.

Great work everyone. Let's keep it going!

Sieving k=300-400 status and individual-k searches

k=300-400 will be done sieving for n=600K-1M by ~April 1st.

Some of you may have wondered about individual-k reservations like we mentioned in our initial project definition. To keep things a little simpler for scoring purposes, we have intentionally maintained the current file reservations process. But when the k=300-400 sieve is done, we will start taking some reservations for individual k's for n>600K and providing sieved files for them. For any k=300-400 "presumably" already contiguously searched to n=600K by others, we'll start doing some searching on those individual k's above n=600K.

7 k's currently fit the criteria. There are also many more that were previously searched up to n=300K and from n=480K-600K. So once we reach n=480K on drive 3 to effectively fill the gaps in them, we'll also open those k's up for individual reservations above n=600K if people enjoy searching them in that manner.

Keep in mind that we won't stop searching these k's up to n=600K in drive 3. We still want that partial double-checking to be done.

This should add a little variety to our standard methods here and get us a nice score boost on the top-5000 site whenever a prime is found. I don't want things to become too stale. As Anon said, variety is the spice of life. :smile:

lol; no, really, it's not an April fools joke. Actually the sieving should be done April 1st but it'll take me a little while to pull the factors together off of 10 machines, remove them from the big file, set up a thread with appropriate instructions, divide up the files, post them on my web site, post them in links here, etc. So if you want an exact date, make it April 3rd and maybe April 2nd if I'm not too busy on that day.

Our work is never done but it's a FUN work and that is all that counts! :smile:

Ranges / primes reported at Primesearch

I have now reported primes and completed n-ranges at the Primesearch site for n=20K ranges that I have all the results files for. With just a small percentage of our current total reported, we're already 6th place on digits in our primes and 12th places both on # of primes and ranges completed at the site.

See this thread for more detailed info.

Individual-k reserves for high n-ranges available

We now have individual-k reservations available for 5 low-weight k's for k=300-400 and n=600K-1M. See the individual-k reservations thread.

Port 5000 a priority for a while...

I'd like to make port 5000 a priority for a while due to some prior missing results that need to be processed at the end of the current set of k/n pairs that are in the server. See particulars in the results file thread.

Thanks,
Gary

Top priority for temporary LLRnet port 8000

IronBits has created a temporary LLRnet server to process the n-range of 425K-437K for drive 3 to fill in a large gap in testing. We'd like to get this range filled in as quickly as possible. This is a potent range with low k-values and no known primes.

If you are currently running port 5000 or would like to otherwise assist, I'd like to suggest a change over to port 8000 for a while until the server is dried. The server info. to put in the llr-clientconfig.txt file is:

server = nplb.ironbits.net
port = 8000

Everthing else should be the same.

Since this is only a temporary server, after all k/n pairs have been processed, it will go away unless it is needed to fill in 'holes' somewhere else.

Thanks,
Gary

Delays on my reservations...

Due to unforseen circumstances, there will be approximately a 1-week delay in continuing with and completing most of my manual reservations. My LLRnet processing on port 8000 is mostly not impacted.

I'll let everyone know if anything else changes.

In other news, we're doing great on port 8000; we're already at n=426.7K of the 425K-437K range. At this rate, we should be done with it in just over a week.

Upcoming vacation April 17-19

Now it's my turn to take a vacation! :lol: I'll be on vacation from early on the 17th to late on the 19th; I may or may not be able to get on mersenneforum at all. This shouldn't have much of an impact on my various responsibilities, since it's only a 3-day trip. Just wanted to let you all know ahead of time, though, so you won't just think I went AWOL. :wink:
