oh, don't know where i got this verison from. got it for a long time in my tools-directory.
"CHANGELOG.txt" is 0 byte and "README.txt" contains only
/* * LLRNet - network part of LLR * * (C) 2004-2005 Vincent Penne * * Released under GNU LIBRARY GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE * (See file LICENSE that must be included with this software) * */

Okay, then it's probably stock. Until I get the go-ahead from Carlos to post the "official" thread, here's the links to download LLRnet preconfigured for CRUS: Windows (stock version, power-of-2 bases only) Linux (stock version, power-of-2 bases only) FreeBSD (stock version, power-of-2 bases only) Windows (SR5 version, works for all bases but no GUI) Linux (SR5 version, works for all bases but no GUI) |
shall i running this over night?
No, seems to be fine. The stock version is fine for power-of-2 bases. Oh yeah, duh--I should have realized from the start you were using the stock version. You had a GUI, so you would have to be using the stock LLRnet (the SR5 version doesn't have a GUI). |
ok, than sleep well all.
works fine! great! karsten |
HOLY COW!! While the cat's away, the mice will play!
Nice work guys! 35 posts in < 2 hours. I'll leave this all up to you computer techies and be the audience. One thing...it bothers me a bit that we must use LLR 3.5.0. Besides having to convert base 16 to base 2, will it work for bases that are not powers of 2? Also, are there any known LLR bugs that were fixed between 3.5.0 and the current version? Thanks, Gary |

Thanks, Gary
The only detriments to using LLR 3.5 are that it doesn't automatically convert power-of-2 bases to base 2 (that was added in 3.6), and that there were some small speed improvements (though as far as I know they only affected LLR tests, i.e. only base 2 Riesel numbers) added in 3.6. As for working with bases that are not powers of 2, the LLRNet server software works with any base without modification; and on the client side, whereas the stock LLRnet client doesn't work with non-base 2 numbers, the SR5 project has developed a modified version that works with all bases. Oh, and by the way: Carlos, after you've upgraded your power supply and are all set for me to "officially" open up the LLRnet server to the general public, I'll be sending you some more files. They'll be Riesel Base 16, just like the ones you've got now, so you can just add the numbers to the end of the current file. Gary, you might want to get the sieving rolling for Riesel Base 16 n>100K, because the LLRnet server might eat up what's currently left of the 2nd Drive pretty fast! |

Sorry if you interpreted it as "don't run it overnight"! Anon :ermm: P.S.: Actually, I would be really glad if you could run it overnight--I'd like to get these Riesel Base 16 candidates finished up so we can insert some Sierpinski Base 16 work, where help is more needed (the server must be run dry before a different type of candidates can be inserted). |
ok, running again (16 tests done)
|
After drying the server I'll double-check myself the numbers...

Is is possible to clean this thread and leave only what's necessary to set up the LLRnet server?

I can do that. Let me know which post #'s you want to keep or which ones you want to delete and I'll take care of it. |
