I think that any posts that just report a prime with no other useful or interesting info or discussion can be deleted without a problem.
|
And, you could take all those messages reporting primes, consolidate it into one simple page and repost it in a new message and removing the original messages. ;)

I vote for cleanup. Probably reservations also.

Clean-ups are good.
edit: Oh, you've already started. Then you have my permission. |
Edit: Man this is BORING and time-consuming. I deleted 100-200 of them. I'll delete that many of them each day for a while.
Sounds a lot like the time when I last did a mass cleanup of my PM box. |

AT LAST!!
After doing full searches on > 10 k's both for k<300 and k=300-400 combined for n=900K-1M over the last year as well as searching a good portion of the 4th drive for 14 k's for the same range, FINALLY, I have a prime for n>900K:
303*2^978724-1 is prime! (294628 digits) Needless to say, my largest ever and more than n=122K bigger than my previous largest. All that I can say is: It's about time! Gary |

Nice one Gary, we certainly put a dent in Riesel Prime's lead with these last 2 primes. Welcome to the 900 club. |

Welcome to the 900 club.
Thanks Ian. One more thing: I believe this is PrimeSearch's 500th prime on top-5000! I'm still waiting for the site to reflect it in its totals by project/person. I'll follow up if it's not or if perhaps yours was the 500th prime. We're currently down to 291 primes behind RPS, the closest we've been, I think. But just wait until that k=1005-2000 for n=350K-500K drive kicks off. We're gonna have some FUN! he-he-he he says with a devilish look as he smacks his lips and rubs hands together  Edit: Yes, my largest prime was PrimeSearch's 500th top-5000 prime! Weeeeee!!
