This feature works well. I am assuming that I will still have to stop and restart the program to delete lines from worktodo, but on the other hand, deleting lines, for me at least, happens much less frequently than adding lines. Thanks!

I tested the new feature on a dual core with only one thread working. Once an hour the program checks for the .add file and "ingests" it, deleting the .add file. :smile:

If I want to run two worker threads on a Pentium D system, do I need to split up the worktodo file manually, or is there an automated way of dividing one worktodo file between two threads? (Again, I am not using Primenet to request work.)

You'll need to split the worktodo.txt file manually. Simply insert a "[Worker #2]" line in the middle of the file.

I've tried to download the linux (32 bit) version of mprime 25.6 for a new pc, and firefox says file not found, but when I try the linux 64 bit version, it offers to save the file. Is there a problem with the 32 bit version? I'm using ubuntu 7.04, so is this version compatible or will I have to compile it? I'm fairly new to linux, and a total noob when it comes to compiling, so is this an easy compile process? TIA

Try again. The ".org" in mersenne.org was missing from the URL.

Thanks, got it downloaded, and connected to v5 by inserting v4=0 in primes.txt How do I select trial factoring to low limits using mprime, since that option never came. Because I was having some problems with the client, I'm logging as anonymouse, since mprime never asked me for a username or password.

Make sure "UseV4=0" is the first line in prime.txt

In version 24.x, there was a way to set when we want prime95 to run (Time=... in prime.ini if I am correct). I copied that line to the same file using the latest version 25.6 and it does not work. Is this feature still supported ? How can I halt one thread for so many hours ?
My goal is to disable one core during the hot hours of the day. Both threads can run full speed during the night.

That feature is broken in 25.6. I'll get around to fixing it someday. Alas, there is no workaround using 25.6.
My goal is to disable one core during the hot hours of the day. Both threads can run full speed during the night.
I second the feature. It's also related to my long-term feature request of being able to pause 1 (or more) thread(s) either:
* manually, on-demand
* while something is running (e.g. "PauseThreadWhileRunning=1,notepad.exe" == pause 1 thread (let the other 1/2/3 threads keep running) when Notepad is active)
