Having listened to

about 20 times in a row, I can assure you that it was her voice,
composition, charisma, sense of timing, finding a superb backing
group etc etc was a bit more crucial than her artistic abilities.

PS Much as I appreciated this 40+ years ago, it speaks louder

What caught my attention in the local newspaper was a full page ad of [I]young[/I] Grace's picture, the date and the address of the gallery. But, as I said, we ended up no going, even though I was tempted. When I saw that article above, later, I thought we did right by not going. I want her to be young, even if this is quite irrational.

Answer to your first point in my post above. As a connoiseur of the
Primitives (and music in general) I think the two versions of Crash are
different, even if under rated (eg Oasis eat your heart out)
Saw them live, blew my jaundiced mind away:)

Re Jefferson Airplane, the inane introductions at least put
a date on the music. I have heard several female vocalists
in my time, but Grace's voice is just magic on these tracks.

My first you tube link was illustrating the art of pronouncing
consonants. Lavalamp described this as "just posh" and Batalov
found a more entertaining you tube link.

If I am required to justify posting the link to "Really Stupid" in this
thread, it would be to note that she pronounces it "stewpid" as
distinct from "stoopid".

You Tube brings life to written discussion of pronunciation and music.
