Before reading Gary's message, I broke 1200-1300 into 20k blocks. Therefore, Gary got 1200-1220.
Taking 1220-1240. When we reach 1300, there will be a sizable pause before new work is available, while we wait for the sieve to catch up. -Curtis
Sorry...I was already up to n=1223K when I saw this. You'll have to reserve something else. Wait for the sieve to catch up? So P=201T isn't enough at this point? :surprised You must have the world's fastest sieving machines! :grin: Gary P.S. Just joking...I'm only at n=1210K. :lol: |
Gary,
We don't like your stupid jokes and worthless posts. Please stay away from our forum. |

props to sheep for the sieve effort

5*2^1194164-1 (359480 digits)
Congrats! :smile: That's all it took was some new blood in the effort! :grin: |

Nice find, Adam. -Curtis |
k=5
1200-1220 complete no primes results to be sent tonight reserving 1240-1260 |
k=5
reserving 1240-1260
Earlier you said:
I'll keep reserving a range about every n=10K until SOMEONE, ANYONE finds a prime!
AES has already found a prime. You also said that:
Curtis, I will probably stop my LLR effort somewhere in the n=800's
and
I have ADHD fits having even only 2 of my cores searching at this high of n for very long. It just gets too boring! 800-820 is close to my limit. Once it goes past about 15-20 mins./search candidate, it's just too long for my tastes.
and
No reservations for me above 1M though.
I'm curious as to why you wanted to continue with this k even though you had no intention of going so high with this k earlier. Moreover, you're already searching the 6 k's <300 that Jeffrey released earlier, you're involved in various doublechecking efforts, and you're involved in your "conjectures R' us" project. That seems like plenty of work which involves tests that don't take too long. Since you have mentioned your dislike for tests that take a long time, why are you choosing to search this high of an n range even though you already have a lot of work which involves tests that don't take such a long time? (and no, I'm not speaking out of self-interest. I have no desire to test 1240-1260 or any other k=5 range) |
Well put, MooooMoo. It seems rather than address this, or wait for me to email him any sieved file, Gary has decided to use an old file from the 50T range when we were first starting to sieve k=5. He helped with the sieve for a couple T, and has deemed himself ready to continue the search as far as he feels like. I view this basically as using a stolen sieve file. I can't imagine someone helping a team-sieve and then deciding to use the file for his own purposes.... that is not the behavior of a team member, period.
In return, I will no longer send Gary sieved files from k=5, and like Kosmaj will no longer recognise his work within RPS. Gary, please leave RPS and k<300 alone. You are a stubborn, deceitful individual who runs over anyone who does not conform to your sensibility. You joined an effort with established methods for dealing with many things, and tried to force your own judgement of right and wrong, acceptable time, etc. Rather than adopt a "when in rome, do as the Romans do", you did all in your power to force us to do it your way. You stole k=243 against the wishes of organizers of the project, badgered members about their reservations as if you ran the show, and disregarded any feedback that did not support your personal goals. I do not want to be associated with such a poor team player. Anyone who wishes to continue on k=5, please PM me or post here for the next available range. I will continue work on this k on my own, and send files as requested by others. -Curtis |

I guess it's too much too assume that someone could change their mind on continuing to search something. Yes, that's what really happened. There was no ulterior motive in 'irritating' people at RPS. I'm sorry I have to do this but like Kosmaj, Curtis has chosen to continuie to attack me when I've tried hard to stay out of flaming the last month or so. I have 2 projects now. I have no reason to attack anyone. In the next post, I shall demonstrate how Curtis attacked me for no apparent reason and without justification of any kind as it relates to k=5. And if Kosmaj chooses to interject anything, I will subsequently post my entire Email exchange with Jeffrey and with Kosmaj in the forums about Jeffrey's reservations that I kindly got him to release and everyone will see once again that when I tried to work to work with Kosmaj, he attacked me further. I can promise it will not paint a pleasant light on things. Then everyone can judge for themselves who the real culprit is in this situation. I'm sorry Kosmaj and Curtis, I will not be bullied off of RPS. If you want to be nice to me or simply ignore me, perhaps I will leave. But not before. Gary |
