Countdown to test all exps below M(20996011) - 13
But yet the primenet current stats shows about 300 LL tests currently assigned. I've read and understand the commentaries before about how George and Primenet track and report a little differently but regularly synchroize their databases.
However a discrepancy of 300 vs 13 seems a little extreme? Or am I misreading the numbers? Could it be that the George countdown is not exponents but something like P90 years? ... no wait, that would be worse since exponents in the 15 - 20M range are worth OVER 1 year each. Are most of the 300 current LL tests assigned by Primenet NOT really first time tests OR tests that have already been turned in by someone else but allowed to be worked on again by Primenet BUT NOT counted by George? Anyone? |
My guess is that most of these 300 tests were reported with errors as first-time tests so George has re-released them as first-time tests.

Errors means the tests were invalid which could mean they didn't really happen so why would he not include these re-first time tests in the countdown? |
The errors were "recoverable" which means that the program continued and completed the computation. In some cases, the final residue is correct, but George has said that about 50% of these tests with reported errors have proven incorrect in the past, hence the retesting.
