Whoo! I'm in the stats now! :tu:
Whatever server adjustments were done seems to have fixed the anonymous bug (for me, at least)
For me now it works too!! Maybe the ANONYMOUS bug was a (now solved) problem with the server or the database?

Ooops, seems that I somehow have missed this posting, thanks for pointing out.
Could you please explain to me, how to access this new report? And how can I participate?
Hi Multisync,

The new report is on the new server pages which we are all beta testing at the moment for George (Prime95) and Scott (Old Man Primenet).

The new report can be found at http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_top_500/

If you are interested in joining the beta, you should probably start by reading the v5 alpha and beta testing game plan sticky and this thread here. Then if you want to go ahead send a pm to Prime95 on this forum for the line to add to the client to make it connect to the new server.

Then just post any bugs here...

If I've missed anything then I'm sure the folk on this thread will add their words of wisdom.

Old man PrimeNet 2007-11-16 00:49

PrimeNet 5 beta seems to be coming along nicely. Some of the beta testing needs to focus on remote control workload and identity features. I'll be refactoring and tuning up the team features next.
Whatever server adjustments were done seems to have fixed the anonymous bug (for me, at least)
Hmm, I managed to make myself anonymous in a different way today.

I was looking at http://v5www.mersenne.org/cpus/ and played with the "drop CPU" feature. It is definitely broken. I have my 2 regular systems, plus a third one I booted up Prime95 on for a few minutes once, so I tried to "drop CPU" on that third one I don't actually use. Unfortunately it processed the inverse of what I wanted -- it kept the CPU I don't want, and deleted my 2 real systems, and kicked them both back to "anonymous" status. I changed them back to me from the Prime95 client and that put them back in my stats account, but the "drop CPU" feature needs to be fixed.

Old man PrimeNet 2007-11-16 06:46

Fortunately George was not on vacation and emailed James' complaint to me because I was going to check back here in January after my next two vacations this month and next (seriously).

BTW I can't find anything wrong with the drop CPU feature, which is the same as a transfer-to-ANONYMOUS user (after all, they have to go somewhere). There's a minor v25.5 bug in this functional area that might be masking these symptoms. For example, it flips to the ANONYMOUS user after a computer info update if you change the CPU public name in the web site's edit CPU details page. A fix is almost certainly enroute if not upon us.

So if anyone finds a bug in the v5.0 beta server or website, EMAIL ME at primenet@mersenne.org. Or post it here and then email me, etc. Just don't post it here only, which unobserved only encourage very rare rant releases.
