Two feature requests:

ability to start/stop individual worker threads
modified PauseWhileRunning to be able to specify how many threads to pause while said program is running. Default is to pause all threads, but quite possibly pausing 1 thread from a quadcore would be enough to allow said program to run smoothly. I'm not sure if this could/should be specified per item (e.g. "notepad[1],wmplayer[2],crysis[ * ]", where [x] is the number of threads to pause and * means all threads) or globally where (for example) 1 thread is paused for each instance of a running program that's in the list, so per the above example if both notepad and wmplayer are running then (up to) 3 threads should be paused.
It looks like we are going to switch to the new SQLServer 2005 based v5 server on Tuesday or Wednesday. Scott ported the database a couple of days ago. Unless he bothers to port it again all work done since then will be lost. I'll try and get any ECM factors found since the database was ported.

So if you're doing TF now, you might want to stop until the switchover occurs.

Ouch. As my home PC is connected without me being around for another few days, as well as the internet connection, I guess I'll send you the TF results from the last week manually, or try a way to get the program to resend the exponents..

What about exponents that p95 gets from the server, be it for LL or TF? Does it mean that the database won't have a record of the exponents assigned?

Scott says he is going to shut down the alpha server, recopy the database to the SQLServer 2005 machine, then do some DNS magic. Expect a long outage and if all goes well no results or assignments will be lost.

most things seem to be back up and my stats have recovered the missing 500,000 exponents from the changeover... awesome . and the main page now seems to be tracking supercomputer power now

another day of TF and I'll pass the 3,000,000 mark woot!

I didn't have the Anonymous bug, but I noticed that in prime.txt while: UserID=athath further down: V5UserID=ANONYMOUS, and in local.txt I had: SrvrUID=ANONYMOUS. I thought that is perhaps why some people have problem with switching to anonymous?

ATH 2007-11-15 00:04

Doh! Now I messed around with those lines, changing them from ANONYMOUS to athath, and now I suddently have the anonymous bug!!! And every time I change V5UserID=ANONYMOUS and SrvrUID=ANONYMOUS to athath it changes it back to anonymous when I start prime95.

Change the userid by using the Test/Primenet dialog box - not by editing the .txt files.

Whoo! I'm in the stats now! :tu:
Whatever server adjustments were done seems to have fixed the anonymous bug (for me, at least)
