And I hope, that the ANONYMOUS bug will be fixed for 25.6 (I had no time to try one of the workarounds yet, but if a workaround is needed, there is a bug to be fixed...)

don't know if the two are linked but I mailed Scott about the pages not updating a few hours ago and the site seems to be updating now

I checked my mails:
Hi Mark,

Thanks for the report. I forgot to restart the SQL agent that does the reporting and other tasks.

With some luck and work I hope to have a beta production system running soon.

Regards,
Scott

mystery solved. wish I mailed him over the weekend though

I don't know if it's worth reporting but I have nothing to report. I have been running these versions for weeks without any problems whatsoever. I haven't run much ECM but TF has been going great. I have even set my max exponents to 1200 on each of the 3 instances I have running and no problems.

Long may it continue!!!!

If only everyone was having the same experience! I've seen two deadlocks on my 64-bit WinXP box. One was documented in the AAARRGH thread. The other is down in the bowels of Winsock DLL - no clue why. Then there is the ANONYMOUS bug which I cannot reproduce. There was also Garo's(?) Linux comm problem - I haven't investigated that one.

The good news is that in real life, no one will be pounding the server like the current TF clients!

The other good news is I did successfully LL test and double-check the exponents between 120K and 140K. They successfully transitioned from first-LL to double-check to ECM and client reliability stats were updated.
Then there is the ANONYMOUS bug which I cannot reproduce.
I wish I could fail to reproduce it.

Is there anything I can do to help capture some useful data for you? If you want me to turn on some debugging, or run some debug builds I'd be happy to do so, just let me know.
Then there is the ANONYMOUS bug which I cannot reproduce.
Did you try to log in with one of the usernames, which produce the ANONYMOUS bug, for testing?

James Heinrich 2007-11-06 11:40
...on my 64-bit WinXP box. Then there is the ANONYMOUS bug which I cannot reproduce.
Hmm, I thought I'd tried this before but I guess not -- the 32-bit Prime95 client exhibits the same ANONYMOUS bug on Vista64. That, combined with the fact you can't reproduce it on XP64, would seem to indicate it's (at least partially) an OS-related issue.

Small side request: Can you please put the bitversion (32-bit, 64-bit) as part of the "About" box in the Prime95 client, it's hard to tell them apart when testing

Mini-Geek 2007-11-06 12:11

I never got the ANONYMOUS bug. Using 32-bit XP Pro and the 32-bit Prime95.

Lets try again.

Put debug=2 in the primenet section of prime.txt. Delete (or rename) the prime.log file. Fire up prime95. Set your userid properly. As soon as it changes to ANONYMOUS, exit prime95.

Then email your prime.txt, local.txt, results.txt, prime.spl, and prime.log files. Perhaps I've overlooked a clue in your log file or your settings are slightly different than the ones I'm testing.
