Project Tools & Blog
We aren't even sure what these do exactly, but is there any interest in having them installed to the forum?
If you vote yes for any of them, please post how you would use the tool. They cost, so this isn't a matter of installing stuff just because we can. We're willing to install them if there is a need for them. Note that each poll link will take you to a description of the tool and to a sample installation. :yzzyx: |
Hey, I'm the first one to answer! And wow, Xyzzy, the evidence seems convincing: 100% NO for both of them.
The projects part sounds to me like fancy Web 2.0 :blahblah:, and I hate blogs. At least blogs of people that have nothing to say. And what information is to be announced regularily here that could't be spread otherwise? So I vote for you saving the money and buying your wife a bouquet of flowers together with a box of choclate. The blog functionality can be already done with a moderated thread. So I do not see its usefulness. And of course the project option does not apply to this forum. That is intended for producing software.

Too many gimmicks on this site aleady.

No to both. There wouldn't be any harm in putting them in if free, but it's not worth paying for.

Somewhere it says that the Project Tools can "manage" bugs. I suspect that it really means that it can help me keep track of what's been done about reported bugs, rather than, e.g., enabling me to exclude bugs from a project. In the absence of the latter facility, I'm voting No.

I do not manage any project here, but I think the feature
*Unlimited admin-definable issue types per project (eg: bugs, features, tasks etc.)* could be useful. It allows defining different thread types and displaying them with a small icon in the topic list... |
