Well, this was the first time we've ever had a fad on the GIMPS forum. I'm guessing that it's because some of us were getting bored. :razz: After all, it's been almost a year since the last Mersenne prime was discovered.

Interestingly, the German word for "boring" is "fad". Coincidence, or ... alien intelligence at work?
