Automobiles!
:question::smile:
This is an easy one but holds an important principle to see through. Question: An automobile agency found that their total annual receipts for the sale of automobiles came to $ 1,111,111.00 but somewhere they lost the record indicating how many cars they had sold. Can you help them? :question: Mally :coffee: |
Are we supposed to assume that 1 car for $1,111,111.00
or 1111111 for $1.00 are not reasonable solutions? And that fractions of a dollar are not allowed? Otherwise, factor 1111111 and use one factor for the price and the other for the number. |

Both have rather low car costs, but I'd say it's the first one. So the answer is 239 cars at $4649.
|

Every automobile agency (or car dealerships as we call them) I've ever come across sell a number of different models at a variety of prices. Your problem is under determined. Paul |

Your problem is under determined. Paul
:wink: Well probably it was the 'Folks' wagon or a Russian agency selling only Zim cars. For that matter selling jeeps at war time by the U.S. for the army. They eventually filtered down to the Indian army. :grin: That explains the low price. Mally :coffee: |
Right answer.

:tu: I accept your answer Mini Geek as the best of the lot. Davar's is okay but he left out the factors. Mally :coffee: |
