The sieve file for k=173 can be found here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/woyx5r
for those of you who're interested in it. It's only sieved to p=2.3T, but it goes all the way from n=1M to n=2M.

I got the k=263 file from VBCurtis and Cruelty, so talk to them if you want to test this k further.

It's been a great joy to contribute to this project for the past three years, and I wish everyone luck in their prime-finding efforts.

VBCurtis 2009-08-28 07:09

I'll finish 263 to at least 1M. I still have the sieve file.
I am wrapping up a major project that was using ~10 cores for the past 9 months, so I'll be making reasonably fast progress on the half-dozen Cruelty k's I have now including this one, at least compared with 2008-09.

k=21 at 1200k.

k=79 completed to 1120k and released.

The current status of all k<300 can be found here.

k=151 tested till n=2.04M
k=233 tested till n=1.3M
k=283 tested till n=1.3M
k=299 tested till n=1.3M

I am still working on those.

VBCurtis 2009-09-01 01:19

It has been a few months since a report, mostly because I tested a 25k block of Adam's 6000-6200 sieve, which was something like 75000 candidates.

11 1.88M
13 1.80M (no change)
41 1.01M (gap to 1.05, complete 1.05-1.15M)
45 1.3M (just a few gaps to 1.75M, should be filled in ~60 days)
99 1.6M (more than half done to 2.0M, but with gaps)
109 1.0M (no change)
127 2.37M
131 888k
201 1.17M
211 895k
245 806k
269 900k (no change)
281 900k (no change)

I should have all but 245 done to 1M in 30-45 days.

Cruelty,

How is the sieve going?

VBCurtis 2009-09-11 05:43

The sieve is running! At 2T, 8.1 million candidates in the file.
Cruelty is sieving at 2T, I'm working on 8-10T.
It's slow going- on a core2-2.2ghz, around 3 weeks per T on a single core.
Such a large sieve is very efficient- at 8T, I find a factor in less than 50 seconds.

To keep this thread less cluttered, I suggest anyone interested in sieving to PM cruelty and I for more details.

I'll pick it up from there, if there's no objections.
