I recntly got a robocall (purportedly) from (866) 978-4848. It went to an old-style answering machine (which causes the first bit to get chopped off; the message also stopped suddenly). The message is as follows (you can hear it in its full robotic glory here):
<chop> call is to notify you that your Microsoft Windows license key has been expired in your computer so Microsoft Corporation has stopped the windows services in your computer to renew the Windows license key please call 8669787564 Let me repeat this is very important call to notify you that your Microsoft Windows license key has been expired in your computer so Microsoft Corporation has stopped the windows services in your computer to renew the Windows license key please call 8669787564 I will repeat. 86<chop>
I have gotten the Windows license expired calls.
In the last few days, and on one in particular, we received a barrage of "Your Apple account has been breached" calls. It urges you not to use any Apple device until you talk to an Apple Support Representative. They urged that you press 1 now to speak to speak to such a person. Otherwise, you could call their Toll Free Number, beginning with '646'. I will try to capture the audio to post. |
