2^713-1 Underway
Hello,
The sieving for 10^227-1 finished on July 7th. 10^227-1 was substantially more difficult than our previous projects. Total calendar time was about 40 days and during this time there were about 85 machines active for most of the period. Over 17.6 million lines were sieved producing about 74.8 millions relations. Originally it was anticipated that as many as 82 million relations might be required so we were quite pleased to see that just under 75 million turned out to be sufficient. The relations are now at Cambridge and post-processing has begun. Unless any unforeseen problems are encountered, the post-processing phase should be complete in two to three weeks. The 2^713-1 project has been underway for a few days now. Assuming that participation levels remain about the same as they are now, the sieving for 2^713-1 should be complete near the end of July. We estimate that we'll need 43.5 million relations before the post-processing can begin. Thanks again for your participation and happy sieving! The NFSNET Team Chris, Don, Jeff, Paul and Richard |

If you weren't a complete MORON you would see that the date on the post you replied to is several years old. And if you were not completely LAZY you would find the answer in less than 2 minutes by browsing Sam Wagstaff's Cunningham website. But this response typifies most of your responses. |

IMO this forum needs stricter rules.

If you had been paying any attention at all you would have seen a drive (misguided in my view) to clear up threads with no responses. This has led to many follow-up posts being made of the nature to which you complain. Paul |
