God or gold?

Googling "God" gets you ~366 million results, while googling "gold" gets you ~481 million results.

Interesting.

When I have it set to search English pages only:
God gets 91.8 million
"God" gets 120 million
gold gets 142 million
"gold" gets 205 million
When I have it set to search all languages:
God gets 390 million
"God" gets 387 million
gold gets 35.5 million
"gold" gets 529 million
What preferences do you have that produce the numbers you posted? In all cases except all languages and no quotes, your observation still stands, but I'm wondering how we can get such different results, and why Google gives such differing results for changes that are practically nothing. (God vs "God")
EDIT: I have moderate safesearch on, perhaps this is causing the discrepancy.

www.google.be all languages

god : 359 M, "god" : 360 M

gold : 485 M, "gold" : 486 M

Moderated or not does not change the results.

Sex : 399 M
War : 637 M
Money : 725 M

Prime number : 107 M
Mersenne : 818 K

War : 637 M

Peace: 216M

edit: The numbers seem to change at least twice a day. God gets you ~385 million results now, and Gold gets you ~470 million results. These are on the default preferences - all languages, no quotes, moderate filtering (only images are filtered)

What does googling "dog" get? We shouldn't ignore the dyslexics...

(Then again, that works in reverse as well, i.e. God may be getting his hits-count artificially inflated due to dyslexic dog lovers.)
