www.primegrid.com overloaded

Hello,
I want to start with TPS and www.primegrid.com
I logged on me with BOINC and BOINC said that the server is overloaded. Do I something wrong or is www.primegrid.com really overloaded:question: ? If yes, then correct this if it it's possible:smile: ! I will retry login in 12 hours.

There are times when the PrimeGrid server is overloaded (the website will say something like "project is temporairly shut down for maintainence"). However, the problem usually goes away after about an hour or two, so you should be able to successfully log in and get work.

edit: Just to clarify, the "server is overloaded" problem is usually a problem with the server, not the user. There is a possibility that you did something wrong, but it's very unlikely.

I tried it before 3 hours, and it also was overloaded then.

That's odd. It usually goes away within an hour or two.

Anyway, I just tried connecting to PrimeGrid to get work, and I get the same "server is overloaded" problem. So, it's a server (not user) problem, since I rarely have trouble getting work from the project.

In the meantime, you could reserve a small (5T) TPS range while waiting for the PrimeGrid server to be available again.

Lately the server got quite busy. There are less chances of connecting to it during the later hours european time. The server load maximum before rejecting any further requests is 12 by the way (the current load is shown in the bottom of each primegrid web page).
See the picture in the link below, showing the server load over the past day. (More on primegrid.com/charts)

Yes, it's really hard to connect to the server in the evening (UT). I think at this time most users have spare time, so they try to connect to their projects. Another problem is, that the PrimeGrid server is shared with BOINCStats, this explains why there is a high peak at ~18h (UT), because it's the daily update time of BOINCStats.
Rytis has tried a lot to reduce the server load (e.g. suspending Result table, pending credit), but the best solution is donating and waiting for a new server.

You will notice a graph at the bottom of the main PrimeGrid page. It displays the server load through time (including current server load). The server stops excepting requests at a load factor of 12. So keep an eye on it to drop below 12. Also, I noticed a recent increase in the last 48 hours. So we'll see.

It worked today. Can I select which kind of work I want to do?(I want to do LLR tests) but I received only Primegen work. Is primegen work also testing?

In your primegrid preference you would have to toggle "run test application" to get LLR work units.
