We're #3 in terms of number of primes found!
TPS and PrimeGrid just made it into the #3 spot: http://primes.utm.edu/bios/top20.php?type=project&by=PrimesRank
Congrats to everyone here and at PrimeGrid! Any guesses on when we'll be #1? I'm guessing we'll get there on July 12th. |

July 4th fireworks!
Good job guys! |
At least 2 years according to my calculation or more, to get to #1 spot.

Errrr...
:yzzyx:We'll hit it on September, 1st! |
You guys were waaaaay off
Congratulations TPS & PrimeGrid for #1 |
We're number 1 then? Cool.

#1
# 1 is always a great place to be. I have found one of them using BOINC and Primegrid.

Unfairly to other "projects", the joint projects Twin Prime Grid and PrimeGrid are currently each getting full credit for the same work. This will most likely be adjusted soon.
930 primes greater than n=333333 need to be submitted to the top5000 primes for TPS/PG to loose credit for their smallest n=333333 prime. If they find all new primes to make this so and no twin, then the maximum count they can have is 655+930 or 1585 primes, which is equivalent to today's "normailzed score" of 2179. Other projects, teams and individuals are finding primes too though; so they will not actually reach this number of primes in the top5000 -- plus there is the effect of the "adjustment" I will applaud TPS/PG if they really make #1 spot |
I don't see why they shouldn't both get full credit for the work, since the 2 projects are really the same one.

Mr. Underwood (and others) might be bitter because other projects got pushed off the list, since TPS/PG occupied two rankings instead of one. For example, the current rankings are:
1.) Primegrid 1.) Twin Prime Search 3.) Prime Internet Eisenstein Search 4.) Riesel Prime Search ...and so on. A solution would be to have: 1.) Primegrid 1.) Twin Prime Search 2.) Prime Internet Eisenstein Search 3.) Riesel Prime Search ...and so on |
