How much...
Pick one.
|
Change Waffle House to Dairy Queen and it'll get my vote. Never been a big fan of Waffle House, especially with all the smokers that like to show up.

Why would anyone pick $1,000 or $10,000 when there's the $25,000 option? Anywho...onto my post.
$1,000, free and clear, no taxes: $1,000 $10,000, free and clear, no taxes: $10,000 $25,000, free and clear, no taxes: $25,000 Lifetime free food at Waffle House, without any of the related health/obesity issues: 50 (years) X 52 (weeks) X 4.5 (avg times a week) X 10 (avg money each time) (cant calculate no related health/obesity, so I'll just leave it out) = $117,000 Finding a New Mersenne Prime: priceless (even though you happen to get a cut of the $20k:whistle:) |
Why would anyone pick $1,000 or $10,000 when there's the $25,000 option?
What we meant was, at what point would you take the money? (We can see how the poll is worded a bit weird.)
Would you give up a Mersenne prime for $1000? And so on and so forth. |

Would you give up a Mersenne prime for $1000? And so on and so forth.
If you meant me to choose to receive only one of: (a) be discoverer of a Mersenne prime less than 10 million digits (b) some monetary amount not more than USD25000 or (c) lifetime Waffle House food without health issues, then I still need clarification about the latter. Since I've never been to a Waffle House (is it like the International House of Pancakes or Denny's chains?), I don't know what that experience would be like. Your hints are discouraging, but I'd have to see what it's really like. If "without any of the related health/obesity issues" means that I can be rid of my current health/obesity issues _and_ not acquire any from eating Waffle House food (or breathing smoke), then that sounds like a bargain I'd take (pending actual inspection ...) !! But if you meant only that I'd not acquire any further health/obesity issues beyond what I have now, from eating Waffle House food (or breathing smoke), then I'll take the prime. If you increase the money beyond USD25000, at some point I'd take that instead of the prime. |

Now you go and insult Waffle House with these bogus and demeaning comparisons. No waffles for you! :furious: |

Sorry my names not Monika:wink: Do the waffles come with 7 different flavored syrups and a choice of ice-cream or cream? Here is South Africa, all the restaurants are partitioned either by glass or two separate rooms into a smoking and non-smoking section. regards Patrick |
Here in Wisconsin, one is asked by the greeter, "Smoking or non-smoking?", but the actual demarcation line is often visually detectable only by the presence and absence, respectively, of ashtrays on adjacent tables. The swankier places usually have a waist-high partition, or else the dessert carousel denotes the boundary. Fast-food joints get to be entirely no-smoking if they wish.
When you enter a bar or tavern, you see or sniff who has the real political clout in this regard (i.e., the tavern league). |
I'm not sure what "on topic" means in this thread, since
the original post still confuses me. If it is of interest to anyone, I smoke for my sins. |
