How do you think we got here? (poll)
All this talk about Darwin day made me wonder how everyone else here thinks we got here.
The "God" option means one single divine being created us as-is, the "gods" option means multiple divine beings created us as-is, and the "God(s) through Evolution" option means that one or more divine beings made the method for evolution to create us. |
where's the "I took the bus" option?

I think we were sneezed out by the great Green Arklesiezure. |
I'm torn on this one. Rationally, I'd say evolution. But how would that explain me feeling the touch of His Noodly Appendage?

Perhaps TTOHNA simply brought the universe into being in raw form, but He, in the wisdom of his zesty marinara sauce, let things evolve on their own from then onward. (But still according to the intertwining spaghetti-standed perfection of His physical laws). I was hoping for a "Auf dem Kartoffelacker" option, myself. (Insert gratuitous "Spud Stud" joke here.) |
by mistake...

How about the "First Man, then Adam" theory? The Roswell aliens came and combined their DNA with Neanderthal DNA. We are a long-term effort to make a better species. (I'm not saying it's true, but it's a fun theory)

Then they've put their bets on the wrong horse, as the Neaderthal has died out - or at least that's what THEY want us to know. |

The Neanderthals died out, but the Neanderthal-Roswell Alien hybrids(us) live on. Or, so goes the theory. Mind you, I'm just repeating what I read, I'm not saying I believe it. I'm going to phrase the following as if I believe it to simplify things. The Roswell Aliens had a complex civilization, but every time they went to a new planet, they're weak constitutions and poorly evolved bodies made them die from things that a Neanderthal could cope with a little better. Disease, wild animals, etc. They combined their DNA with the Neanderthals. Basically, we have Roswell alien brains and Neanderthal bodies, reflexes, immune system, etc. |
What I wanted to say:
DNA analyses indicate that the Neanderthal is no direct ancestor of ours. Unfortunately, I currently don't find good references for this. |

The Neanderthal thing could be totally or partly my imagination. |

First Adam then Man.

 A remarkable theory jasong. Its as good as dispensing aliens when God is around. Its like the question 'What came first the chicken or the egg?' I Quote: Dr. Ginsburgh, a Physicist, maintains that the Biblical Genesis story is a true though transformed history of this and following events (with the spaceship as the Garden of Eden and the ship's central computer as the Tree of Knowledge, for example). The shorter lifetimes and growing susceptibility to disease of each succeeding generation of these early space/earth men and women is stated to be due to continual dilution of the space people's genetic heritage by interbreeding with native earth people. A large number of occurrances described in Genesis are shown to be consistent with this space origin theory. The description of the origin of the universe given in Genesis, can, according to Dr. Ginsburgh, by giving modern interpretations to some of the terms used in the description, be shown to be entirely consistent with the current Big Bang Theory! Altogether, this is a stimulating and challenging attempt to reconcile religion and science, and can be read as a serious theoretical proposal, or if this is too hard to accept, as, at least, a very entertaining speculation. Unfortunately, the book is not easy to find...[/quote] I have corrected the numerous spelling mistakes there in. I am wondering if these aliens 'watered' from their aerials in the head. I would like to see how they could copulate with earth people  They would be using their heads in more ways than one ! Mally :coffee: |
My mam said the postman, but I look more like the milkman
