I wanted to set up ECMNet on sourceforge yesterday. Unfortunately someone that I do not know set it up a few years ago using my source. That person's account has been deleted from sourceforge thus I cannot make any updates to that project. I've sent an e-mail hoping to be made administrator on the project, but haven't received a response yet.

People still use sourceforget? Almost everything happens on GitHub now. |

OpenPFGW, another one of my projects, is on sourceforge. It's easier to have it in one place. |
Apple's latest incarnation of clang is broken in that it miscompiles. The previous version was fine. ARGH! I don't see why I should be debugging their compiler.

Just had to cancel a meeting tomorrow as I don't think it is wise to drive 120 miles each way.
Eight days ago I was carted off to hospital at about 11pm with severe chest pains. Ambulance crew were unable to run ECG immediately because of all the interference from several wifis (two of ours, three neighbours) and multitudinous computers (seven in our house alone) but a repeat out in the street suggested not heart probs. Might be gallstones. Investigations are continuing. |
Just a quick update on me da': the doctor has changed his prognosis to Stage 4, non-small-cell lung cancer, due to the discovery of a mass directly under his adrenal glands. He starts radiation tomorrow, on top of his 5-hour dose of chemotherapy every three weeks (they give him intense amounts at a time). On the same front, though, his (and my step-mother's) baby appears to be on schedule to pop out on time, if not a bit early. She has taken to kicking and scratching her back on my stepmother's stomach. A good note, though, in regards to the big C and the baby: my father has finally quit smoking (he actually started cold turkey about three weeks before finding out about the cancer, which was undoubtedly a result of chain smoking for 18 years)
Status update: Dad had a stroke Dec 14, the day after he turned 39. The cancer has metastasized and spread to the brain. The doctors are putting in a shunt to drain fluid from his brain tonight, and he sees the oncologist sometime today. It's not looking like he'll make it another year. |

My experience with ulcerative colitis is that some internal pain can be very hard to accurately localize. I hope that things resolve quickly and innocuously. Wishing you well, Ross p.s. Sounds like there is a market for a body-sized transportable Faraday shield. |
p.s. Sounds like there is a market for a body-sized transportable Faraday shield.
My guess is that an ambulance, assuming metalic body, is a reasonable facsimile.
More in a moment. Poisson statistics ... |
