Not exactly unhappy, more not entirely gruntled.

The PETA people keep sending me their propaganda, despite my repeated requests not to. The current one is a "National Referendum", which is just a rehash of a questionnaire they've sent many times before. Am I aware that animals are skinned for their fur, etc? Would I like to give them my bank details so that they can take a donation?

Of course I'm damned well aware of it. They keep banging on about it month after month after month. As far as I can see, the only way I may be able to get them to stop harassing me is to waste their time and money. So today, again, I fill in their questionnaire saying that I'm aware and that I think that using animals is an entirely ethical thing to do (regardless of my real feelings) and return it in the Freepost envelope without adding a stamp to save their postage charge.

FWIW, I donate to animal charities and I have re-homed a good number of rescue cats so I can hardly be accused of callous indifference.

Paul, I believe what you describe is commonly referred to as "heavy PETAing".

Next time you snark-fill their form, suggest you ask why they are so different to the rights of mutants. And if they did start a campaign in that regard, would animal-themed mutants like Wolverine[sup]TM[/sup] get put under the animal-rights or the mutant-rights wing?

I've found cutting open the envelope sides, wrapping it around a brick and re-taping it to be an excellent method of conveying similar "gravitas" with less mess.
