Good luck with your treatment. We're rooting for you.
Ditto!

@ RDS -May the tests have encouraging results, and treatments great success.

I was going to say "seconded" to George's post, but I see about a dozen other well-wishers beat me to it. :)

Bob, take care of yourself, all the best.

Not that I'm superstitious or anything [touch wood], but I hope we're not tempting fate having this discussion in the "RIP" thread. In Bob's case, may it stand for "recover in peace".

Please add my well-wishes to the list...

davar55 2013-01-07 18:47

I too wish RDS the best possible recovery.

@ RDS- Best of luck with the tests and treatment; looks like a large and diverse community wishes you well.

I hope you get better, as well, Mr. Silverman.

My mother's father, who's now dead, was considered a miracle patient when he recovered from leukemia. Maybe you'll have a similar experience.
I am undergoing tests to determine the type.
I'm glad to see you here again. Let us know how things go if talking about it provides any comfort. Best Regards,
Ross

Well, it seems cancer spreads through circles quickly, transmitted over the internet willy-nilly. I found out 30 minutes ago that my father has stage 3, non-small-cell lung cancer, encompassing about the same space as a 12 oz can of soda. He starts treatment Wednesday, going aggressively with chemotherapy AND radiation. The timing could hardly be worse, though: my stepmother is due in March with my first half-sister.
That comes as a real shock. Not as much to me as it must have been to you, obviously, but still.

I'm hoping that your tests and subsequent treatments help you cope well with your newly learned situation.

All the best!

Paul
I now have a more exact diagnosis based on a PET scan and genetic tests.

I have mantle cell lymphoma of the small bowel. A colonoscopy/biopsy
is next. Exact treatment has yet TBD.
