My sincere condolences for the losses of Decaf and Lottie. Loosing family members is hard.

Thanks. Sincerely.

The pain is felt by the living, not the dead. As it should be.

Yesterday we took more than 3 hours to get us to Stansted airport from Milton Keynes. Some how some stupid bastards decided to cut 2 lanes out of 3 for works on M11 on this Christmas period. Lots of late flyers driving throughout the hard shoulder to be on time for their flights. If they cannot schedule works with the main airport motorway not sure how they will cope for Brexit.

It once took me 4 or 5 hrs to get from Hinxton to Heathrow, in the early morning. For 2 hrs I simply stood in that rental car on the M11 to M25 exit. ...and everyone else stood. After ~1 hr I remember the strange thing - I stopped cursing and became at ease. (Interestingly, I still flew away to SAN as I arrived to LHR.)

I do like you sarcasm Serge.

BTW, it was the day with less stress going through security up to the gate. Since I was expecting some sort of issues we left home 6 hours before our flight so we had plenty of time to cover any contingencies. I don’t like crowds and I do suffer with it which is related to past events.

Amsterdam's Schiphol airport (one of the top 3 in Europe by passenger volume) has a great bicycle track
with tunnels under motorways and even under a runway,
so that you can cycle directly to the bike rack at the central terminal building.

That’s awesome or are you also being sarcastic ( did not google). In Portugal that wouldn’t work since it’s not a flat country, it’s up and down hills. Do they have showers at the terminal?

Where I work in London one of my department colleagues cycles every day to work, gets there around 8 am and changes his cycle outfit with a suit but he doesn’t shower.

I wasn't being sarcastic - I know sarcasm is used quite often in British culture, but it is rare in Dutch culture!
Yes, there are showers at the airport though I find the price a bit high (currently 15 euros I think).

Glad you’re not being sarcastic.
It’s not expensive when you consider that probably there’s no time limit plus all utilities you need to cover plus any mark up.

No sarcasm - that was exactly what happened.

If you don't get to LHR by 1-2pm - you will not fly over Atlantic that day, you will have to look for a hotel for the night. (Think about the time difference.)
I've been busy upgrading a 2S Supermicro board (with 8 memory slots):
1x Xeon E5-2620 (v1)
4x 4GB ECC ram

to

2x Xeon E5-2650 (v1)
8x 4GB ECC ram

for the better part of a day now. The 2620 with the 4 memory modules was in working order when I started.

I installed both CPUs and heatsinks and the 8 memory modules (they're all the same brand/part#) and it failed to boot (not even to the BIOS) with error code 2F which is memory related) according to https://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/faq.cfm?faq=18917

So I removed all the memory but 1 stick (which was also previously installed) and hurray it booted.

I've been trying different combinations of slots/modules to identify the defective slot(s) and/or memory module(s) for the last couple of hours......
I´m beeing as supportive as can be :
