Christmas gift

Christmas was three weeks ago, but I finally got my last (and best) gift yesterday. I was curious to read what were the best and/or worst Christmas gifts people received this past year.

My favorite is this DVR. I bought it for myself with a bonus I received from work. I've always wanted one and when my wife stated she wanted a way to burn our digital-8 tapes of the kids to DVD, this was a natural selection.

My son sent me a Xmas greetings from London titled 'This Christmas, Santa comes early" He said he has bought me a laptop but I have to wait till he comes down.
Four years ago he bought me this p.c. These are the best gifts I have ever received.

As a child I remember looking forward to Meccano sets from the simplest to the complex which numbered from 1 to about 7. One had to collect them in order and make use of all parts to make bridges, train sets etc.
These were very educational and my Uncle gave me my first lesson on attaching miniature bolts. "Remember to put the bolt heads facing outwards" he would say.

Little did I realise then that I would one day be designing, marking, machining and assembling massive Sluice gates for the giant Vaitarna dam project etc

Well those were the days!

I bought myself the new 80 gig iPod. Does that count?

My brother's girlfriend works for a place that sells silverware and cooking related things. She got me a bunch of high-end spoons, forks, knives, steak knives, and a slew of other cooking related stuff.
