Fortress: A new math language

Guy Steele, known from Scheme and Java (and a C reference manual, and a book on Fortran high-performance computing) is involved in a new language from Sun called Fortress: http://research.sun.com/projects/plrg/1.02_steele.pdf

Fortress is designed for high scalability (the 'for' loop is parallell by default) and to display math notation as God (or at least mathematics) intended it.

An an alpha release is apparently planned this year or next.

Looks interesting, what do you think?

Looks quite fun to try, but I didn't like the idea of a space meaning multiply. They can use the asterix (*) or dot (.) to make it more readable.
