Me too, i still like n=333333 as it's just over 100K digits
That one is fine by me too, actually I don't mind which one we are testing next time, as long as it has the size to at least in the early stages, enter the prime list top 5000. But we all have to remember, that computer power is supposed to increase at least 10 fold before the end of this decade, but since we are not yet having computer with 10 cores, we still need to progress slowly, and increase the rate at somehow the way I suggested, because then the computation power will somehow keep up with the increased nessecity of CPU power per task :) Regards! |
So, what did I do today?
I finally changed the code so that you will get no primegens if you have selected beta apps. I finally found the problem why LLR window was popping up sometimes (will release patched version after a few days). I now have an idea why LLR is not suspending (might prove false, but it's a step ahead). I changed the workunit generation to use quorum and initial replication of one (and failed while doing that so all workunits i had in queue got sent out with 2 as old ones were). The new range that I will reserve once this one gets closer to an end will have no doublechecking. I launched donation page for the new server. |
Finding a twin for N=333333 is not so difficult as it seems. For a 3GHz P4 less than 200 cpu years are expected for sieving and testing. In case we have enough participants (BONIC...) that goal can be achieved in 2007.

No. Assuming Moore's law is still true, computing power will only increase by 4 times by 2010. |
Guys, I need pre-sieved combined range 1220-1300M :)

Gribozavr, or somebody else, please release the all in one 1220-1300. Gribozavr please send me also 1300-1400 M. |
Sent.

I have updated the pre-sieved range page: Rytis I've upload in that page also the 1220-1300 range (bottom of the page)

:w00t: :george: :bounce wave:
Yes, we must thank Gribozavr. |
Not yet...
Celeron is sieving 1000T and on, Athlon is doing 959T-1000T. |
