(for Team Prime Rib members)

... of course you knew months ago that TPR would soon pass 100K LL Primenet CPU years and devised a plan. A few days ago, you stopped one of your first time LL tests just 1 iteration before it was to finish (you practiced the skill of doing this for hours, expecting that you couldn't afford to stop even 2 iterations from the finish, since there would be plenty of other people as determined as you). You refreshed the TPR individual account report page continually for the last 24 hours, without breaking for food or sleep or anything else, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Then, within 1 second of TPR reaching 99,999.2 CPU years, you resumed the test, thereby claiming the distinction of completing the milestone test that pushed TPR above 100K CPU years.
Funny, yes, but I don't think that's how it worked out for the one that finished it. There was an over 2 hour time between the two (the one that brought it 0.8 away and the one that put it over).

Indeed. The last pre-100K exponent was finished at 6:34 UTC and the one that pushed it over the edge was finished at 8:49.

But why ruin a good laugh?

... you are frustrated that your computer crashes just as you are about to resume the rest. After 2 hours and 15 minutes of frenzied attempts, you finally fix the computer, finish the test and (to your great surprise) claim the milestone.

Looks like Reboot_IT is guilty!

You win the lottery and splurge on several Crays  Now you can finally catch up to the guru's of the search! Also, you are now warmer because of your (computer's) effort!

You win the lottery and you purchase all of the computers that found the recent primes. Then you set up a road-side prime museum. It includes: posters of all of the m-primes for sale, banners on the walls of them in 4-point type, Mersenne's death mask, a lock of George's hair, and other wonders. Later you hire Paul to work as a docent.

...if you agree with Strong Bad when he says, "Are you trying to tell me that $70,000 power bills aren't the norm?"

No offense.
...if you're this guy here:

The idea that I have is for the tray icon to change color (say blue) when an item has been finished in the worktodo.ini. That way those of us that want to stay on top of things can see when an LL is turned in or a factor is found, etc. Once the window is opened the icon would return to green.
None taken.

I don't know if something similar was posted but...
You install prime95 on your notebook, and when carring it from one place to another you take care not to close it.
(guilty) :)

That's easy to remedy: just set the power management options to do nothing when you close the lid.

...if your computing farm is the cause of global warming.

When ever the local utility is near peak power usage, they require you to disconnect your farm from the grid.

Your UPS for your farm looks like the attached.

And when they go down for maintaince, your contract requires you to supply the grid from your UPS.
