you refuse to buy intels quad core cpu because of course 4 is not a prime number.
Of course, you could add on a separate Pentium 4, giving you 5 cores total. You would then have even more power to run Prime95.

cheesehead 2006-12-14 13:54

... not to mention handling the awkward compositeness of the "95" in "Prime95":

Prime95 = (Prime19 per core) * (5 core).

Mini-Geek 2006-12-14 19:37

...so you take the source of Prime95, and edit it so that it is Prime19.

You keep failing school on purpose until you can be a member of the class of <insert prime number>.

If all you want for Christmas (or [insert holiday here]) is a Mersenne prime.

I'm not sure if this has been said, but:

You can do the Lucas-Lehmer test mentally.

... you are constantly thinking about when the total output of GIMPS statistic will be updated:
Between 23 November 1997 and 04 February 2006, PrimeNet has handled 11,579,649,914 P90 machine-hours (1,320,973 P90 machine-years) of Mersenne number tests.
If you think the answer to life, the universe, and everything is (√9)! * (9 - (√9)!/(√9) )

I am honored that my puzzle helped you find the answer you were seeking .... :blush:

I will add one of my own: If you are carefully monitoring the odometer in your car as it nears M297,622.1 AND at the same time your wife's car as it nears M139,826.9

and if you had to make one more post realize it was a prime number (#37)

you lock yourself in a prime number of rooms...
you bury your head in a box of sand containing a prime number of grains
