... you design a 50 Megabit RSA key for your computers; you are dismayed and confused when the key is almost immediately cracked by hackers.

...you've been setting your Prime95 iterations between screen outputs to 29186 for over half a year because you might just maybe get to see iteration 12345678 , which by the way is actually pretty likely considering at 29186 iterations per screen output and a screen resolution at 1280x1024 you get to see just over one full days worth of work on your screen.

But then you think... what OTHER iterations per screen outputs can you see it to get some cool dates?

I want to get at least 20000 iterations per screen output on there ... otherwise there's too little info about the previous day on each page. 100000 is way too many because results don’t refresh fast enough (like more around 3 hours per line). So here are some ideas:

* There is 68111 to get my birthdate in format YYYYMMDD
* There is 69309 to get my 21st birthday in format YYYYMMDD
* There is 65343 to get my next birthday in format YYYYMMDD
* There is 63857 to get one less than the exponent I am working on

Hrmm...such important things to think about....

Mystwalker 2005-03-17 13:06

Looking at your "official" age, the 21st birthday has already passed long ago.

...impatient that Perfectly Scientific has still not made a poster for M42:

you decide to go on a hunger strike until they do.

jinydu 2005-03-31 01:33

... you order 25964951 framed posters of M42 from http://www.perfsci.com/images/framed.jpg, costing you $6,621,062,531 (of course, you've rounded up to prime number).

You are subscribed to this thread. You get an email update and read the heading, and confuse it for an actual post.

If you are a student, and your "study breaks" consist of checking your iterations.

ThomRuley 2005-04-09 20:01

If you are a student, and while playing a video game, you feel guilty about the game not because you are burning up study time, but because your iterations are taking twice as long while you are playing the game.

Been there, done that

I'm guilty of that too! :surprised

... you are furious because you interpret ixfd64's post to mean that he's guilty of playing games and thus slowing down Prime95 (of course, he couldn't mean that he's guilty of feeling guilty; that would be inconceivable!).
