Major forum software change...

Please post any bugs you find here. Also, if you find a neat trick or feature with the new software please post it so we can all learn.

The multi-quoting tool sounds good!
I just tried it and it's useful.
First you toggle the multi-quote button -> of the messages wanted, and then
:)

We can also give a reason for editing or delete our own posts.
Do we have a delay for deleting posts?

Nice! Also, we have an yellow/red card at the side to report infractions. But the reason for editing was always there, at least in the full version, but having it small is nice too... Also, the quote takes you to the post. Not something I'd use regularly but could be nice to see context. BTW, about the delay in deleting, there is none. Oh, and the edit and save buttons now have an animation while they load!

Hey, why does xyzzy's original post not have a yellow/red card icon?!

Hey, neither does mine! I smell a double-standard.

Post deleted !

My post titled "'Solid state Vs. Big bang!" posted yesterday 13th Aug. in my thread 'Bible, Fact fiction, mythology' was deleted!.
It did not quote anyone but I gave some copious arguments relevant to the Thread.

Again, it's probably because of your status. For simple members like me the delete option is only available in the 'edit' part where we can go only during the edit-delay.

Oh, the delete-delay is also valid for me too. I misinterpreted the original post.

Problem with editing

I can't seem to edit my posts. It says I don't have permission!

jinydu 2006-08-16 03:22

I don't see any red cards or yellow cards anywhere. Or can only admins see those?

Yes, looks like only moderators see the cards, and supermods/admins don't have them.

For those interested, here's a screenshot of the first two postings.

Alex

Edit: hmm, it rescaled the image. You can still see the cards, though.
