My Avatar

I never uploaded an avatar onto these forums. Yet, for whatever reason I now appear to have one.

Does anyone know how it might have appeared there? Did a mod or someone do this? It concerns me because I feel like my computer might have been compromised, somehow.

:surprised
I had the same experience before when overnight an avatar appeared. It didn't suit me so I asked Mike to remove it and he did and I was never troubled again. Well whoever can do this I would like him to do me one but to my specifications.
I note that yours is a coloured 5x5 square. I could fill it with whichever number you want to start with and make it into a magic square
Thanks in advance.

Xyzzy sometimes assigns avatars to long-time members who don't yet have one. I don't think you computer or mersenneforum.org account have been compromised.

The perfect avatar for davar55:grin: (I hope I don't offend anyone. If I do, then Sorry:redface: )

Since he keeps on typing single line messages and posting them at a rapid rate.

Bravo!

A line of text that would be otherwise completely pointless were it not that I am trying to avoid davar55-like behaviour.

Encore Citrix encore! That suits him and true to life!

I now think Davar 55 is on the mend with all the opposition.

As the German gestapo clock maker said

"Ve 'ave a vay to vix 'im " ( borrowed from Ernst)

Alpertron:
Thank you very much for the kind offer.
I have a few avatars in mind to choose from but have not made up my mind as to which, as they are difficult to send to you. Please bear in mind that I am not an expert (not anywhere enough!) on these sort of things but a plain amateur mathematician with a love for anything in math and physics. I am thinking of sending
two small photo graphs of myself - what I was in my prime and what I look like now as I dont want to hide behind a mask or symbol. I believe in Truth.
Even my name is true Malcolm F. Goode.
I know that besides XYZZY ( have I got that correct?) or Mike, and you are the two people who can do this and have distinguished yourselves in many diverse fields besides avatars. MY respects to both of you.
Well, give me some time and I will get back to you.
Thank you,
Mally :coffee:
