Congrats to everybody! BTW, the 200th prime was reported on Feb. 12, 2006 by Grobie, see posts from #187 forward on this page |
WOW! That's great. Congratulations to everybody!

Sweet! I got the 300th prime. Yum.
Congrats to everyone, and let's keep expanding the group-- I am recruiting a few HS students from my classes, so I have ~15 machines working on 15k now. I wonder how many folk like Thomas, LSoule, and Kosmaj run, as they seem to get results VERY often. It's really just chip envy, but I'm still curious. -Curtis |
I have roughly 20 machines on it. Actually, 20 is the max as the processes
are niced and turn themselves off if people are active on the machine. Most are 2.8GHz linux machines of one sort or another. :geek: |
On April 21 with 300 primes our score was 45.947, today with 320 primes it's down to 45.9226 :surprised
Active primes: on current list: 320; rank by number 2 Total primes: ever on any list: 373 Production score: for current list 45.9226 (normalized: 1819), total 45.9477; rank by score 8
I don't check it every day, but last time I checked, 3-4 days ago it was about 45.97. The score can decrease only by losing primes, for example when they drop from the Top-5000 list, but actually we got 20 new primes. I'm not aware that we lost primes in any other way. Then the only possibility is that the old score was in error (?) because the new score is correct, I just computed it by myself. But in any case, sooner or later we'll reach and surpass 46.0  |
We have 320 on the current list and 373 ever on any list so
we've had 53 fall off the top-5000. The new primes from any of the 3 drives should be on the list quite a while as they're coming in around #1000 on the list. |
I have an explanation for this mysterious decreasing of our team's score. One of my primes was initially credited with large score by some kind of error. Normalized score for this prime was about 140. I noticed this error and notified Chris so he fix it. And that's why our team's score went down. Chris checked the rest of the database and didn't find other errors. It was just this one error.
Mystery solved. |

Edo, thanks for the explanation. |
We have just cleared the 46.0 score milestone
