why am I getting this error for ANY exponent I manually request, regardless of the range/size of the exponent?

Error code: 40
Error text: No assignment available meeting CPU, program code and work preference requirements, cpu_id: *****, cpu # = 0, user_id = ****
Can you give an example of a range and worktype (double, first time) you were trying?

GhettoChild 2016-01-11 12:44

yes I posted my range and work types here http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?p=421854&postcount=5 . First time LL tests 63000000-70000000+

sorry for duplicating threads of the issue. I waited throughout the day for an answer here and saw no increased views in the thread so I thought maybe my issue was posted in the wrong place and would need its own separate thread.

Server being rebooted shortly

The server's about to get a reboot. Should be down for 30 minutes (I'm trying not to repeat the mistake I've made before with giving too short an estimate initially).

It's 3:53 AM UTC and it'll be rebooting at about 4 AM UTC

Got another round of updates to put in. That's what happens when I go a few months without doing them.

It'll be another 20 minutes I think.

All done... there was a SQL update I was going to do, but no rush... saving it for next time.
The server's about to get a reboot.
Would that explain why http://www.mersenne.org/result_archive/2016/2016-02-12.xml.bz2 doesn't exist at a time when it normally should?

I got a DC assignment but for some weird reason it is now listed as expired. My machine is still working on it. What happened to this assignment?

http://www.mersenne.org/report_exponent/?exp_lo=35898799&exp_hi=&full=1

The machine checks in daily to report on the three assignments it has. The fourth thread is doing manually assigned work. It has been doing so for years without problems.

It expired because Brian V checked in a matching double-check. I presume his assignment expired on the 13th, but he checked in a result on the 20th. This happens occasionally as any system to detect abandoned assignments will not be perfect.

You can either cancel the test or complete it for a triple-check.

Just to confirm, I assume that continuing on to complete the assignment would still count as a 'returned result' for the purposes of the Cat 0/1/2 discrimination, even though it is strictly speaking no longer required? (Abandoning the assignment would I assume give no credit).
