The cofactor is prime:

I'll be liasing with Tom Womack shortly, so he can update his reservation system if he wishes.
Paul

41 numbers available for reservation; 7 reserved
Have You already talked to Tom?

fivemack 2007-12-31 12:49

Paul talked to me a while back; I thought I would wait in case there was a huge flood of ECM, as happened back in July, but now I'm down to getting a couple of ECM mails each day, and someone's poked me, so I have merged the tables.

'565 numbers available for reservation; 7 reserved' - have fun!
Thanks! *starting sieves*
New update is uploading right now (may even have finished).

Another twenty or so factorizations and the number of composites is down to 550.

Unfortunately, I'm getting a few repeated factorizations of the smaller composites. The rule is that the first to hit my mailbox wins, in some sense.

Gratifying to seem some of the long-timers who have stuck with the ECMNET server during the dry time of the last couple of months starting to pick off ECM factors again.

Paul,

I can't connect to the ECMNET server...
Paul,

I can't connect to the ECMNET server...
Carlos
A client is running amok and sending in an unlimited number of duplicate factors. The guilty account is japke@tweakers.net. I've sent email to Japke but he's not yet been able to do anything about it.

I've received circa 1500 emails so far today ...

I ave restarted the server and a couple of people have managed to connect so far.

I started 4 cores but I'm getting the same work...

xilman 2008-01-05 21:59
I started 4 cores but I'm getting the same work...
Which is entirely reasonable. The server is currently handing out over 1000 curves at B1=1M. Unless you have incredibly fast cores and/or your check-in time is measured in days, you are unlikely to complete 1000 curves in a single period. Even if you do, it doesn't matter because the expected factors per cpu day is very flat in the neighbourhood of the optimum B1 level.

Paul
I just checked. Your systems are sending in 6 curves per check-in period.

No problem, AFAICT, with the server sending out 1010 curves to each of your clients if it expects to receive 24 in return.

What's your concern?

I stupid one because I don't understand what you say, you talk in binary!:

I received the same work, this one: "Received 11+9_184 (length 177) : ECM with B1=1000000 * 1011 curves", for 4 different cores. Am I doing the same work on the 4 cores? BTW, 1011 curves are done in less than 4 hours on a single core...At this stage 23 seconds per curve...I just don't want to make duplicate work, that's my concern...maybe I am saying something stupid...
