I can do pretest these numbers, I´ll take a look at it. I noticed an thread about the GCW number factoring, last post in 2009. Shall I revive it? @Serge and jyb I meant the C307, but somehow I wrote C309. (->Don´t drink and post at MF) Since they are already tested so deep, there is no need to manually ECM them. (for me.) |

I noticed an thread about the GCW number factoring, last post in 2009. Shall I revive it?
Yes, it would be great to have a dedicated thread for those numbers, and then let's all agree to stop posting about them in this thread, which is intended for a different set of numbers.
@Serge and jyb I meant the C307, but somehow I wrote C309. (->Don´t drink and post at MF) Since they are already tested so deep, there is no need to manually ECM them. (for me.)
I don't know what your goals are, so I can't comment on whether you personally have a need to run ECM on these numbers. But there is definitely a more general need for additional ECM before many of these numbers are ready for NFS. Once they have sufficient testing, those of the appropriate difficulty can be given to NFS@Home. However, there are over 100 of these numbers which are already sufficiently tested by ECM and ready for NFS now, though they are too easy for NFS@Home and are more appropriately done by individuals. Once Tom's reservation service is up, it will be easy to identify these, as the page shows all the numbers with their size and SNFS difficulty. In the meantime, if there is interest I can post a list of those numbers which have already received sufficient ECM. |
Hi, where can I found the ecm client for linux? Thank you!
The attached file contains the sources for the last version 2.x ECMnet distribution, which is what you'll need to talk to the HCN server. |
Hey Jon, with regards to those 100 composites why not add them to NFS@Home (29-30 bit) wsince there are a lot of computer power available to sieve then. We can handle the post-processing.

That involves a whole discussion of what's appropriate for NFS@Home, so I think that's a conversation we should have over on that forum. Feel free to post there. |

Done. |
Hi Jon,
Since I’m struggling to run some NFS jobs in between on what I can run, I’m pointing 4 cores to the ecm server. Once again I can’t see the project page. Carlos |

Same here. My browser sits there "Contacting www.leyand.vispa.com" -- and sits there, and sits there. and sits there... |
Yup, I've contacted Paul and we'll see what happens.
Carlos, you can find the ECMnet server address in post 1437. |

With regards to the ecm server address what I meant was whilst waiting for post-processing NFS jobs I would point my cores to the ecm server, which I’ve done for the last week or so so far. I though you had access to the server side to see who is running it. Apologies for the bad English tough, recently I’ve been very tired due to commuting everyday to London. My brain just stalls. Gets worst when I’m reading a book in Spanish, daily English at work and Portuguese with wife. Glad no one speaks in French with me at work otherwise I would be dead tired by now. |

The ECM server is running on my own hardware at 83.217.167.177:8195. The GCW server is the same address but port 8194. |
