While most puns make me feel numb,
mathematical puns make me feel number.
In addition to a clever play on words, this one has the extra added attraction of an apparent oxymoron!

"Numb" means "devoid of feeling," n'est-ce pas? So to "feel numb" is an impossibility

How about:

While most puns make me feel oddly numb
Mathematical puns make me feel even number

From the wiktionary for feel:
2. To sense or think emotionally or judgmentally.
(transitive) To experience an emotion or other mental state about.
I can feel the sadness in his poems.

For numb:
Emotionally unable to feel or respond in a normal way.
numb with shock; numb with boredom

I was lying in the bathtub the other day, considering whether to start a German course on Duolingo. Feeling peckish, I got out, dried myself and went over to the refrigerator and finished off some left-over sausage.

It was at that point that I realized that my situation had gone from Bad to Wurst.

The comic strip Smoky Stover was riddled with such plays on words. One in particular showed two characters trading a sausage for a butter churn, saying "Good trade!" and "Nice swap!" The caption was, "Taking a churn for the wurst."
