Problems with Large FFT but not Small FFT's?
Hi,
I am running a DC 3.2ghz (940) Intel processor, with a P5WD2 Premium mobo. I have 2 gigs of PQI memory 5400, a Enermax EG651P-VE FM(24P) 550 Power Supply. When running the small fft's everything is fine. After 30 minutes with a large FFT test, I get a blue screen of death. I am OC'ing at 251 FSB, memory at 4:3 (180mhz in CPUID). Vcore at 1.325. Any suggestions on what is making the Large FFT crash? |
Hmmm, let me think... overclocking? Your system is simply not "prime stable"
I would bet on memory + FSB problem here, but I have no real experience with Intel platforms... BTW: do you run stress test in two instances (on both cores) or just single one? What are your temperatures during stress test? |
Large FFTs stress memory more than small FFTs. Relax your memory timings or slow down the memory bus speed
